Michigan and several other states have scored a temporary victory against a Trump administration order imposing restrictions on services for undocumented immigrants.
A federal judge in Rhode Island issued a preliminary injunction to block restrictions on such services as the federal preschool program Head Start, food banks and adult education.
President Donald Trump’s order would have reclassified certain community-level programs as federal benefits, making them unavailable to undocumented immigrants.
Other programs that could have been affected include community health centers, domestic violence shelters and Title X family planning clinics.
