KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - With the Gay Street Bridge expected to reopen to pedestrians and bicyclists in less than four months, the City of Knoxville is exploring modern options to replace the 127-year-old bridge.

Crews are continuing to make final repairs to the bridge throughout the fall, and it remains on schedule to reopen to a limited number of pedestrians and bicyclists by the end of the year, according to the city.
