SPRINGFIELD — Deana Wesley said she tried everything to cope after the loss of her son: therapy, support groups, hobbies.

But, what has allowed her to “grow and grieve” the most, she said, is the local flag football team she started for mothers. They’re also in a league for moms, she said.
