MURRAY – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 troopers and detectives announced Thursday they have arrested a former Murray High School teacher following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate sexual relations with a former student.

KSP Post 1 initially received a report in August 2018 from the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) alleging possible sexual relations between Jason Shelby, who was a Murray High School teacher at the time of the report, and at least two students. KSP said allegations of misconduct against Shelby date back as far as 2005, the first report made to KSP was from EPSB in 2018. Following the initial report to KSP, Shelby resigned from his teaching position in October 2018.
