A 16-year-old was taken into custody Monday afternoon after a brief foot chase involving officers with the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
The Florence Police Department was contacted by officers at 401 W Evans St., the federal courthouse, reporting that two people were pulling door handles and looked to be tampering with vehicles in the parking lot of the federal building.
Task force officers attempted to get out with the subjects, and they fled on foot, according to the Florence Police Department.
A brief foot pursuit led officers to 550 W Darlington St.
When Florence Police arrived to assist, one suspect could not be located but the 16-year-old was located on the third floor of the apartment complex.
The juvenile was taken into custody without incident.
