POWAY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Some roads in Poway will be closed this weekend for the annual Poway Rotary Parade, a longtime tradition in the city which attracts hundreds of people each year.

The parade, which takes place on Saturday, September 13, is designed to promote community spirit and provide entertainment for spectators. This year marks the 60th edition of the event.

In preparation for Saturday's parade, the City of Poway is advising commuters to plan ahead for scheduled road closures and detours in the area.

At 6 a.m., the following roads are expected to be closed off to traffic: • Northbound Pomerado Road between Stowe Drive and Poway Road • Southbound Pomerado Road between Poway Road and Oak Knoll Road • Metate Lane and Poquito Street access to Pomerado Road • Old Pom
