(Gray News) – Multiple historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) across the U.S. are on lockdown Thursday after receiving threats.

The following universities were subject to threats Thursday, according to university officials:

Alabama State University

Virginia State University

Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia

Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Florida

Clark Atlanta University

WSFA reports that Alabama State University is on lockdown Thursday morning after a “terroristic threat” was directed at the campus. Out of an abundance of caution, ASU has shut down campus operations until further notice.

WAFB reports that the campus of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is also on lockdown.
