WASHINGTON — Democratic National Committee headquarters received a potential bomb threat Thursday afternoon, law enforcement confirmed.

The United States Capitol Police cleared the building just after 4 p.m. and did not report finding any explosive devices. The lockdown has since been lifted, and the area has reopened. Any associated road closures will open in the coming hours.

The bomb threat was reported at 1:07 p.m., U.S. Capitol Police said. The Metropolitan Police Department's Explosive Ordinance Disposal squad were requested by Capitol Police.

Capitol Police said, they checked the building and its surrounding area. Police said, nothing was found outside. They checked inside the building "out of an abundance of caution."
