A construction worker was rushed to hospital with serious, “life-altering” injuries following an incident at the site of a downtown Toronto highrise Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded just before 1 pm to 1 Bloor West, the future site of an 87-storey skyscraper at the busy Yonge and Bloor intersection. Toronto Fire said they received a call about an injured worker and initially had difficulty reaching him. Officials later confirmed that a work platform fell from the 67th floor to the level below.
