TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray Florida Capital Bureau) - Florida leaders are calling for an end to political violence after the shocking assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
They say enough is enough when it comes to political violence tearing across the country.
“Everyone left a conversation with Charlie thinking he was their friend,” Republican Party of Florida chairman Evan Power said.
Power first met Kirk through his organization, Turning Point USA.
“He had those conversations, convinced people to move their opinions, and for someone like that to be cut down in their prime is just devastating,” Power said.
Kirk’s killing is just the latest politically targeted act of violence in recent years, including two assassination attempts on President Donald Trump last year.
