BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana lawmakers were told via email Thursday that “nefarious” postcards were being sent to members of the legislature.

The WAFB I-TEAM spoke to at least one lawmaker who received one such letter and reported it to the FBI.

The nature of what was inside the postcards was not clear, but members from both sides of the aisle have received them, according to an email that the WAFB I-TEAM obtained that was sent to all state representatives.

Lawmakers were advised that they will be given instructions by the end of the day on how to “handle this current threat, and future threats.”

An FBI special agent was unable to comment when reached by WAFB.
