A SPORTS reporter has been fired for comments made about Charlie Kirk.

PHNX Sports has sacked Gerald Bourguet for his remarks made in the wake of Kirk's assassination.

The company announced the firing of Bourguet on social media.

"The opinions expressed by our employees do not represent the views of PHNX or ALLCITY Network," PHNX Sports wrote on X.

"We take matters involving violence very seriously and are committed to ensuring that ALLCITY remains a safe place for our employees and community alike.

"We have addressed this matter with the individual and made the decision to part ways."

Bourguet is a popular beat reporter covering the Phoenix Suns, but angered fans with several posts after Kirk's death.
