SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) — On the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, longtime Suncoast View host Linda Carson is remembering the day she sat just a few feet away from President George W. Bush as he learned the nation was under attack.
Carson , then a reporter for ABC7, was inside a Booker Elementary School classroom in Sarasota on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. Bush had come to promote reading with second graders. Cameras rolled as students gathered around him in a semicircle.
Minutes later, White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card entered the room and leaned in to whisper to the president.

“I thought he just said, time to move on,” Carson recalled. Bush allowed the child read
