Phil Brown has returned to the dugout after being named the new manager of Peterborough Sports.

The National League North side become the 11th club of his managerial career.

Brown replaces former coaching duo Michael Gash and Luke Steele at Lincoln Road after they were sacked on Wednesday.

Their exit came after a Northamptonshire Senior Cup exit to eighth tier Wellingborough Town on Tuesday.

That defeat followed a 5-0 home loss to Fylde in the league three days earlier.

As a result, Peterborough Sports find themselves bottom of the table on four points after eight matches, with just one win to their name.

Chairman Tim Woodward confirmed Brown's appointment in an official club statement.

He told supporters: "This is an exciting time with everyone connected to Peterborough Sports.
