A Baton Rouge woman has been arrested after shooting a man who she said asked to have sex with her, then refused to leave her house. After he hit the ground from the first gunshot, the woman fired again, and police are not considering the shooting justified.
Shalyn Barker, 25, was arrested Wednesday evening and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison on counts of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons.
Officers were originally called to Barker's residence on North 47th Street just before 4 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a shooting. When police arrived, Barker admitted to shooting the man, who was transported to a hospital, according to an affidavit for Barker's arrest.
