There will be lane closures on the eastbound span of the Blue Water Bridge starting Sept. 15.
The Michigan Department of Transportation announced the lane closures, stating it will have construction crews performing repairs to the bridge deck's pavement, extending the lifespan of the bridge.
One lane will remain open to traffic on the eastbound span of the bridge from the toll plaza to the mid-span point of the bridge. A width restriction of 14 feet will be in place during the construction.
The westbound lanes of the bridge will be unaffected by the construction, which is scheduled to last until November.
