LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Two young girls from the Bluegrass State got to meet some real-life idols this week.

The UK Volleyball team , ranked third in the nation, played in a showcase event on ESPN Wednesday night in Fort Worth, TX.

On the court and in the crowd were two big fans.

Luciana and Nora, two Kosair Kids , were able to travel with the team and spend time with the players.

Luciana is an 8-year-old Leukemia survivor from Lexington.

11-year-old Nora is from Louisville and underwent a rare transplant surgery.

“It’s a good experience and it’s wonderful to see volleyball people play in real life,” said Luciana.

History was made Wednesday night as Brooklyn DeLeye became the 19th player all-time at Kentucky to record 1,000 career kills in the match. She ended the match with 14
