At the Delaware County 9/11 ceremony, a day to remember the tragic events 24 years ago, the political killing of Charlie Kirk brought a warning from the district attorney.

Political divisiveness has threatened what people on 9/11 gave their lives for, warned Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer during comments Thursday at Rose Tree Park.

“Yesterday, ladies and gentlemen, a terrible tragedy happened in this country, a 31-year-old man was shot and killed, just for simply exercising his first amendment (right) to share his thoughts, his political ideology,” Stollsteimer said. “It doesn’t matter whether you agree with it or not, all of us have suffered a loss, because our democracy cracks every time we shut down someone who wants to move this country forward.”
