KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — This morning, hundreds of Army and Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps cadets completed a memorial stair climb at Neyland Stadium.

The cadets climbed 110 flights of stairs to honor the first responders who rushed to save lives at the World Trade Center towers on Sept. 11, 2001.

A member who wasn't alive when the attacks happened said she understands why it's important to remember and honor those who died.

"I think it's a great time for our generation to come together and there's a lot of things that divide us in this world, but one thing that the country can come behind is being patriotic, standing for people that lost their lives, trying to protect civilians, trying to help each other and their community, " Sara Fulkerson said.
