A man in Marlboro County, South Carolina, has been charged with the exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

Deputies said Hopkins approached an elderly person in the McColl community of Marlboro County promising to help the person repair a wheelchair ramp for money.

According to officials, Hopkins took money from this person multiple times without fulfilling his obligation of repairing the wheelchair ramp.

Hopkins was booked into the Marlboro County Detention Center under a $5,000 bond.
