MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - The streets of Minot are filled with remembrance on Thursday.

Twenty-four years ago on this day, our nation was forever changed.

A patriotic ruck in town gave Minoters the chance to walk side by side, carrying the weight of 9/11 together.

Emergency response sirens are the sounds that still echo the courage and sacrifice of those who responded on Sept. 11, 2001.

Air Force veteran Chris Greek said he remembers the weight all the men and women carried.

“This day is very important to everybody,” said Greek.

On Thursday, roughly a dozen citizens rucked 11 miles in southwest Minot.

Mallory Gray is one of them.

“It’s a lot of time to reflect when you’re on the ruck about the sacrifices that were made on 9/11,” said Gray.
