PHOENIX (AZFamily) —Phoenix police have identified the man shot and killed by officers after he was suspected of committing an armed robbery near a busy west Phoenix intersection earlier this week.
On Thursday, investigators identified the suspect as 32-year-old Ote-Tee Brooks Nalwood.
Authorities said it happened near 35th Avenue between Van Buren Street and Buckeye Road around noontime on Monday.
Police initially responded to reports of an armed robbery in the area. The caller told officers that a man had pointed a gun at him and stolen his cellphone.
The victim told officers what car the suspect drove off in. Officers then tracked the suspect’s car down, and the driver came to a stop in a vacant field.
