UNION, S.C. —

No charges will be filed after a shooting left a man dead in Union, South Carolina, according to police.

Around 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 18, officers with the Union Police Department responded to a report of gunshots at 622 South Pinckney Street. Latest Forecast

When officers arrived, they found 28-year-old Ieshaun Dunn of Union lying in the grass behind Buddy's Corner Store and another man giving the victim chest compressions. Officers discovered that Dunn had a gunshot wound near the heart.

Dunn was transported to the Union Medical Center, where he later died.

The Union County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division assisted in the investigation.
