On Sept. 4, a CHP officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle going northbound on Interstate 5, according to the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office.

Officers requested his K9 partner, Jack, to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle due to the driver and passenger's inconsistent statements. Officials said K9 Jack alerted the officer to narcotics.

A search of the vehicle then revealed around 40 pounds of meth concealed in the trunk. The driver, identified as Juan Munoz-Guzman, was then arrested for transportation and possession for sale of more than 10 kilograms of methamphetamine.
