Aaron Flint felt “pissed off and hopeless” as he stood in a friend’s backyard and watched a plume of black smoke emit from the Pentagon 24 years ago.
Flint, the host of the statewide radio talk show "Montana Talks," recounted the story during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Montana State Capitol on Thursday.
He told of his compulsion to enlist in the military in response to the terrorist attack and recalled stories of Montana soldiers who died in the War on Terror.
“We say, 'Never forget,' so that we never forget the near 3,000 lives that were lost that day,” Flint said. “We also say 'Never forget,' so that we don't forget the sacrifices that have been made over the last 20-plus years since the 9/11 terror attacks.”
