The Seahawks signed cornerback Shaquill Griffin to their 53-man roster from their practice squad on Thursday.

Receiver Cody White was released to make room on the 53-man roster, and because White is not subject to waivers as a vested veteran he was immediately signed to the practice squad.

Griffin, who signed with the Seahawks this offseason, returning to the team that drafted him in 2017, was elevated from the practice squad for Seattle's Week 1 game, but did not play.

White, who earlier this month made a season-opening 53-man roster for the first time in his six-year career, played five snaps on offense last week, and shared kick return duty with George Holani, returning two kicks for 59 yards, including a 36-yard return.
