BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - The Provident Building in downtown Bismarck will be the future home of Burleigh County offices, and it’s currently undergoing renovations.
County Commission Chair Brian Bitner said that the county already owns the building, so renovating the structure, rather than constructing a new one, will save the county more than $30 million.
The bulk of the renovations include new plumbing, HVAC systems and asbestos removal.
Bitner said it will be a one-stop shop for county business.
“When the citizens come in to work with the county, it’s all in one building, which some of it is now, but some things are spread out. So, it’ll just improve efficiency and lower the cost of services,” said Bitner.
The renovation is estimated to cost around $16.5 million. It will be paid for
