FARGO — The fire station near West Acres is back open after undergoing a year-long, $2.5 million renovation.
Firefighters moved back into Station No. 5, located off 40th Street South, on Monday, Sept. 8.
The city closed the station last September after engineers found the ground beneath the building was shifting.
The rebuilt station includes a storage area that vents carcinogens out of the building.
Fargo Fire Department officials said reopening the station will help firefighters get to emergencies in the area faster.
