THE BRONX, New York (WABC) -- Tensions are high, and so is security at Yankee Stadium, where President Donald Trump is watching the Yankees face the Detroit Tigers Thursday night, and where pregame ceremonies were held to recognize the victims and heroes of 9/11.

While tensions are normally heightened around September 11th, it is even more so in light of Wednesday's deadly shooting of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk .

The president's appearance now carries even greater significance and requires even greater security.

The Secret Service has been at the stadium since the morning and performed security sweeps with K9s.
