JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - Reynolds Hall has stood on Wildwood Avenue in Jackson for generations. But its future could change under a new bond proposal from Jackson Public Schools.

The district wants to replace the historic building with a new innovation center for more modern and hands-on learning. The bond also has goals to upgrade science labs, outdoor learning areas, cafeteria renovations, technology updates, and building improvements across the district.

“I’m all about innovation and moving forward and meeting people where they’re at and helping them learn and get the education that they need to be successful,” said Jackson resident Kate Britz.

But the Jackson County Michigan Historical Society strongly opposes tearing down Reynolds Hall, arguing that preserving it protects the city’s
