John Kelly will be calling hockey for FanDuel Sports Network after all. But it will be for the company's Los Angeles Kings, not the Blues, telecasts.
Kelly, who was ousted in St. Louis in July in what the club and telecaster said was a mutual decision as the broadcasts are being consolidated to radio and TV simulcasts, has been hired as the Kings' TV play-by-play voice in a move announced Thursday.
He's set to call about 60 regular-season and two exhibition games, plus first-round playoff contests if the Kings qualify. He hasn't said much publicly about his ouster in St. Louis after more than two decades of service with the team for which his father, Dan Kelly, was a legendary broadcaster, but addressed the matter more in-depth now.
