An international student from Lima, Peru, who is also part of the student newspaper at Utah Valley University, described his experience of Wednesday's shooting on campus that killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Jeff Quispe recalled disbelief when he received a text saying that Kirk was shot.

"I didn't believe it, at the first time, but when I was already arriving to campus I saw a lot of people running, crying," he said as he made his way from a bus stop to the scene of the shooting.

Quispe took videos of the scene and expressed his shock saying this is something he would "only see on the news or in movies."

"As an international student, I have never seen, like, a shooting at a university in my country. This is something that, to be honest, I just see here in the United States.”
