Ten-year-old Riley Wallace goes to the Twin Falls City Pool nearly every day after school.

"I love to be able to swim, see all my besties here and just have fun," Riley said while eating shaved ice.

Kids like her and their families will soon enjoy a major facelift at the pool.

The city of Twin Falls broke ground on Wednesday on an expansion that will improve accessibility, privacy, and the overall experience at the pool. The project will move the lobby to the parking lot side, so folks don't have to walk around the building.

"This expansion is more than just brick and mortar," Aquatics Supervisor John Pauley said. "It's our commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive space for our community."

The pool was built in 1989, one year before Congress passed the Americans with Disabilities
