SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Michiana residents took a long, determined walk to honor the victims, survivors and heroes of that long-ago September day.
“March to the Memorial” was a 21-mile walk from the Martin’s Super Market in Erskine Plaza in South Bend to the 9/11 memorial in St. Patrick’s County Park.
The walk included rest stops at seven fire stations along the way.
Organizer Bob Lyons and 9/11 survivor Cindy Laney stopped by our noon show earlier this week . We caught up with Lyons during the walk to talk more about the importance of March to the Memorial.
