Swift approval of a new subdivision that will have more than 200 homes means improvements to a busy street in the area could also come sooner.
During Monday’s council-in-committee meeting, politicians gave approval to a draft plan of subdivision for Spears Garden in the area of Pettit and Garrison roads, and Bertie Street.
The developer plans to build 124 single-detached homes and 84 townhouses in the new neighbourhood, which sits between Garrison Road Public School and Greater Fort Erie Secondary School.
This prompted Mayor Wayne Redekop to ask about plans for sidewalks on Pettit Road, from which there will be two access points into the subdivision.
