It's been 24 years since 9/11, but police and community members in Surprise continue to honor the memories of the fallen.

Thirty-five police officers and citizens gathered at City Hall, 16000 N Civic Center Plaza, Sept. 10 to walk the four-story parking garage. Participants went up the four flights of stairs, ran and/or walked across the top floor and then down the stairs, repeating it 27 times until the last round when they only went up two flights for a total of 110 flights of stairs, said Sergent Will Bisson of the Surprise Police Department.
