Detroit City Football Club has terminated sports information director Jarrett Maki following his arrest and charges in Illinois for allegedly making terrorist threats.

The club announced the termination in a statement on Thursday, Sept. 11, saying it had suspended Maki from all club activities and removed his access to systems and facilities before ending his employment.

“While it is important to note that the issuance of charges is not proof of guilt, our priority is the well-being of our club, staff, supporters, and participants,” the statement said.
