CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A student club at SEMO is providing students of all studies a space to explore Artificial Intelligence(AI) and cloud computing outside of the classroom.

President of the club, Hannah Bradham, says the club doesn’t focus on generative AI platforms like ChatGPT, but rather on programming AI models.

One project in process is an image classification neural network; The goal is to train AI to distinguish between similar items, like picking out a long-sleeve shirt from a short-sleeve shirt in a picture.

Bradham says these projects foster skills that can be carried over into a career, “It’s definitely learning more about the technology; how to program it, and how to use it. A lot of our work and jobs that we have are starting to integrate AI, and just hoping to lea
