Some Florida firefighters had a special and symbolic visitor during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony Thursday: a bald eagle.

The firefighters at Cape Coral Station 11 were holding a private moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., to mark the first plane hitting the World Trade Center, when the bald eagle landed on the fire station roof.

"A bald eagle proudly landed on the fire station let out a screech to announce her presence, and stayed for a while before gracefully flying away," The Cape Coral Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post that featured photos of the bird. "What an incredible symbol of patriotism, freedom, community, and hope on this tragic day in our nation’s history."
