WASHINGTON — The U.S. Navy Academy in Annapolis is on lockdown status on Thursday evening.

According to a spokesperson from Naval Support Activity Annapolis, the lockdown is in connection to threats made to the school.

“Naval Support Activity Annapolis, in coordination with local law enforcement, is currently responding to reports of threats made to the Naval Academy," said LT Naweed Lemar. "The base is on lockdown out of an abundance of caution. This is a developing situation, and we will provide updates as they become available.”

No further information has been released regarding the threats.
