HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) — Firefighters quickly knocked down a house fire in Hutchinson Thursday evening.

Crews were called around 5:30 p.m. to the 600 block of East A Avenue, where they found smoke on the second floor and in the attic. They traced the source to a small fire burning through the floor and put it out before it spread.

One adult and two children were inside at the time, but no one was hurt. Damage was minimal, and the home is still livable, according to the department.

The cause is under investigation.
