PHOENIX — Charlie Kirk's casket was flown from Utah to Phoenix aboard Air Force Two on Thursday.

One day after the conservative activist was shot to death while speaking at an event on a college campus, Kirk's casket was transported to the Valley, where Kirk had a residence and Turning Point USA was based.

Air Force Two arrived in Phoenix at about 4:40 p.m. with Vice President JD Vance and Kirk's family aboard after flying in from Utah, according to NBC News. The vice president posted a eulogy Wednesday night honoring Kirk and calling him a "true friend."

Temporary flight restrictions were issued earlier Thursday for both Arizona and Utah, indicating movements of a high-profile person, like Vance.
