AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Amsterdam held a 9/11 observance event on Thursday at Riverlink Park. The park is home to an 18-ft. concrete and steel column salvaged from the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Officials and community members gathered to remember those who lost their lives. The ceremony included a singing of the National Anthem, a wreath laying and speeches.
Mayor Michael Cinquanti reflected on the day and honored the lives lost. He emphasized that the bravery of the first responders should be remembered no just as an act of courage but as an act of love.
