Political leaders from both parties in Ohio are condemning the deadly shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed during a debate appearance at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
Kirk, 31, was known nationally for his outspoken conservative views and his work with Turning Point USA, a group he founded that frequently held public events on college campuses, encouraging debate over controversial issues. Advertisement
The fatal incident has brought forth national concerns over the rise in political violence.
"We’ve seen too much of this," said Alex Triantafilou, chairman of the Ohio Republican Party. "We saw the president near-assassination two different times. And now we see just this vicious, awful killing."
