HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A high school math teacher at Lake Norman Charter has been placed on administrative leave following comments made on social media in connection with the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The teacher is currently under investigation by the school. While some online speculated the teacher had been fired, the school’s community relations director clarified that they have not been terminated but are temporarily removed from campus while officials review the situation.

"[The teacher] has been placed on administrative leave pending a complete investigation. This means he will not be with our students, teaching at our school or on our campus grounds," the school confirmed with Queen City News.
