MADISON, Wis. (WXOW) – In a Facebook post Thursday, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson says President Donald Trump approved the state's request for flood disaster relief in a phone call between the two.

Governor Tony Evers formally requested a presidential disaster declaration on August 27. This came after an August 14 assessment of the damage by the Federal Emergency Management Agency estimated the state faces over $33 million in damages due to the intense rain and flooding in early August.
