Honor is at the heart of the 9/11 Memorial Ceremony in Austintown, where a large group could be seen paying their respects Thursday.

"That was the promise that was made after September 11th that we would never forget those that were lost that day," Kate Guzzo, secretary treasurer of the 9/11 Memorial Park said. "So our goal every year is to make sure those lives are not forgotten," she said.

The park held onto pieces that tell a story of the disaster.

"Beams over here they're from the 94th floor, we don't know if it was the north or south tower," Samuel Swoger III, chairman of the Mahoning Valley 9/11 Memorial Park said. "The four stones are from the pentagon. the urn has dirt from Shanksville PA," he said.
