BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — There is a proposal to put a roundabout at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and Vaughn Road in Bentonville.

The historic Vaughn Presbyterian Church on that curve says the current proposal would encroach on the property, coming close to the main entrance.

A public meeting was held Sept. 11 with the Arkansas Department of Transportation to discuss a compromise.

The church says it fully supports the roundabout, but is requesting it be placed a little further away. One solution is using the lots just north of the church, which are now empty fields.
