NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — As violent rhetoric builds across the country, college students are concerned about safety.
At Xavier university, no threats were made to their HBCU campus, but some students are still worried.
"We haven't gotten shut down or kicked out yet, so just like seeing all the threats and seeing how people feel; it's just a little concerning honestly," Xavier freshman Kamryn Taylor said.
They say that while five HBCU campuses, including Southern University in Baton Rouge, have already seen threats; they worry their university might be next.
"It's also concerning because we are on an open campus so I feel like even with a heads up, we really don't know what could happen," Xavier freshman Jada Barrow said.
