EVERGREEN, Colo. — 9NEWS Investigates has confirmed that Desmond Holly posted a photo of a handgun on his X page twice – first on Sept. 5 and again shortly before Wednesday’s shooting at Evergreen High School .

The gun in the social media post is a revolver – the type of weapon Jefferson County authorities said Holly used, and the type of weapon found on the ground in the area where he shot himself after wounding two students.

A law enforcement source familiar with the investigation confirmed that the social media page is Holly’s.

The second post is not captioned but is time stamped 11:26 a.m. on Wednesday. The first report of the shooting came a little over an hour later.
